A neighborhood roaster that took coffee and culture seriously.
"Our mission is to provide the highest quality Latin-inspired coffee, beverages, and pastries in a setting that is warm, inviting, contemporary, and authentically Latino."
Latino-owned, house-roasted, and known for the horchata latte people drive across town for.

Tierra Mia began in 2008, when Ulysses Romero opened a single coffeehouse in South Gate. A Stanford MBA and the son of Mexican immigrants, Ulysses grew up around his family's food business and apprenticed under coffeehouse pioneer Martin Diedrich before setting out to do something few had done: bring true specialty coffee to LA's Latino communities, honoring the culture instead of talking around it.
Today we roast our own beans in Los Angeles and bake our pastries fresh, sourcing primarily from Latin America, including a single-origin Oaxacan dark roast from one grower in Oaxaca, Mexico. From one neighborhood café to cafés across California, the mission hasn't changed: great coffee, made with cariño, for the communities we call home.

"The horchata latte is unreal. Tastes like my abuela's kitchen but with a shot of espresso. I drive across town for it."
"My go-to work-from-café spot. Fast Wi-Fi, outlets everywhere, and the baristas actually know your name after a couple visits."
"Finally a specialty coffee shop that feels like ours. Latino-owned, Spanish behind the counter, and pan dulce that's actually good."
From our baristas to our bakers to our roasters, every person at Tierra Mia shapes the experience our neighborhoods count on. If you care about great coffee and the people you serve it to, we'd love to meet you.
